Nicole’s Choice for Christmas Films

If the hot Brisbane heat makes you feel a little estranged from the true Christmas spirit, my top pick films are sure to get you in the mood! Ho ho ho.

  1. Home Alone

Who doesn’t love to watch the young Macaulay Culkin running rampant home alone trying to fend off robbers with his clever tricks! Undeniably the best Christmas movie which features the greatest one liner, “Keep the change, you filthy animal”.

  1. Love Actually

There’s nothing better on a lonely Christmas Eve that filling oneself with hope from the intertwined love stories of “Love Actually”. It’s the original (and best) film to have an all-star cast.

  1. The Nightmare Before Christmas

Arguably one of Tim Burton’s best works, this music film makes everyone want to jump into Halloween Town. Oh to live like Jack and Sally.

  1. Just Friends

The hilarious love story between two perpetual best friends unfolds in a very Christmassy town near New Jersey. It’s a bit of a disaster that causes cringing, laughter and tears (but maybe that last one’s just me).

  1. The Polar Express

This beautifully animated film is so masterful that it seems almost real. It brings me back to my early childhood and makes me want to believe in the magic of Christmas again.

  1. The Grinch

Who can forget the age-old classic of The Grinch who stole Christmas? Starring cute-as-a-button Taylor Momsen at age seven, the cast is full of little snubbed noses in an adorable set.
