SPRUNG HIP HOP FESTIVAL

SPRUNG hip hop festival is invading our city once again on Saturday 10 November bring a stellar line up of some of the best Aussie hip hop artists the country has to offer. It’s pretty sick that one of the biggest Aussie hip hop line-ups in the country is housed here in humble Brisvegas. Not to mention it's an ALL AGES festival for the affordable price of $77 a ticket.

The line-up is insane, but IZE have chosen our top five must see artists of the day.

1. HILLTOP HOODS

For those who missed out on seeing Hilltop Hoods when they supported Bliss N Eso last year, you’d be crazy to miss out on the opportunity to see this act again. Headlining SPRUNG, Hilltop Hoods will be gracing us with an energetic and fully committed performance that they’re renowned for.

2. SETH SENTRY

Seth Sentry is a little further down on the line-up, but he is undoubtable one of the best acts on the bill. His debut album ‘This Was Tomorrow’ has definitely not left fans disappointed after a long await from his EP, ‘The Waiter Minute’. The album was highly anticipated and Float On may even be on its to becoming as big as his 2009 single The Waitress Song.

3. THUNDAMENTALS

After two great EP’s, Thundamentals’ 2011 album ‘Foreverlution’ landed them at #19 on the ARIA chart and made them a huge success. Thundamentals have been moving from strength to strength, and their cover of Matt Corby’s Brother on Triple J’s has got to be one of the best Like a Versions of the year.

4. PEZ

Pez has been making a splash on the Aussie hip hop scene for ages. In the 2008 Triple J Hottest 100 countdown, Pez took out the number 7 spot with his unforgettable hit The Festival Song. Since then, he has made a stack of his own music and has notably featured in Illy’s hit Where Ya Been.

5. SEVEN

You can’t attend SPRUNG without seeing native Gold Coast artist, Seven. After winning Triple J Unearthed/MPhazes competition in 2010, Seven is one of the most exciting Aussie hip hop artists on the local music scene. The ‘Floated’ EP was one of the best Summer 2012 releases. It would be worth seeing this up-and-coming star perform at SPRUNG.
